![]() And really, my albumin is pretty normal, but my globulin is on the low side of normal, so the effect of the cortisone shot plus my hypothyroid could logically be it. I JUST HAD A CORTISONE SHOT TWO WEEKS AGO, WHICH COULD SUPPRESS GLOBULIN (since immune proteins are globulins)!!!! I like the possibilities on WebMD better so I'm going with those! However, according to your page "A high A/G ratio suggests underproduction of immunoglobulins as may be seen in some genetic deficiencies and in some leukemias.". High total protein could be inflammatory, it's true, but my total protein isn't high. It sounded worse, so I cherrypicked the WebMD one. My doctor is terrible about phone calls, so I'm erring on the side of waiting, but I'd love some encouraging comments.Īnybody have experience with high A/G ratio? What was the experience? I'm sure the doc would recommend a re-test, plus a CBC.īut in the mean time, do you think I should worry much? I'm trying to decide if I should contact the doc or wait and see what the follow-up says first. ![]() I'm doing my bloodwork as package panels at Walk-In Labs and my blood pressure med recheck package will include a CMP plus CBC. It is also linked to low thyroid activity and …. WebMD says it can be a "sign of disease in liver, kidney or intestine. I looked up the reasoning for high A/G ratio. I also know a person can have slightly high numbers and the doctor will say, no big deal, someone who has a real disease is going to be off the charts on this, whereas you're just a little bit high.etc, etc. I know that sometimes these blood tests can blip high and I know a person can run a bit high and it's "normal" for them. my Albumin/Globulin ratio is high, 2.7 when normal is up to 2.2. My bloodwork came back stellar, still consistently wimpy GFR of 70, but glucose fine, lipids phenomenal, everything else in normal range.except. So, I had my pre-blood pressure med baseline screen to make sure my potassium was fine.
